THE TENSION:  BEING TRANSFORMED vs BEING CONFORMED

                    A vision of Rom 12:1-2, 2 Cor 10:3-5, James 4:4

“As a man thinks in his heart, so is he.”

“Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind…”.

Through this supernatural way of life, we now begin to think differently,

For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh, for the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but divinely powerful for the destruction of fortresses. We are destroying speculations and every lofty thing raised up against the knowledge of God, and we are taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ.”(2 Cor 10:3-5).

We reject worldly philosophies flowing out of Satan’s system of works, for he is called by You “the god of this world”, “the prince of the power of the air”.

You say “the world is our enemy” and, “You adulteresses, do you not know that friendship with the world is hostility toward God? Therefore whoever wishes to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God.”(James 4:4)

To “do life” by implementing the worlds ways, adopting what seems to work for the world, utilizing pragmatism or even common sense as our modus operandi, rather than ”doing life” by faith is a grave mistake so easily made by Christians. Yes, “The righteous man, a Christian, shall live by faith” (Rom 1:17), not by the ways of the world, or worse yet,

by our common sense, so often elevated as an awesome personality trait, but nothing more than worldly wisdom that even the natural man has available and uses as a primary MO (Mode of Operation).
